Favre Needs To Know When To Quit

by Bret Sims 7/11/2008 6:14:00 PM

Bret Favre is quickly becoming a circus act and tarnishing his legendary career as the Packers QB.

Favre in any other uniform will be as pathetic and sad as seeing Jerry Rice as a Raider or Joe Montana as a Chief.

Muhammed Ali didn't know when to quit and though he is known as the Greatest he did tarnish his name with some of his fights when he kept trying to come back.

Hang it up Bret and don't become an ESPN highlight every week.

Five words is all you need:
Washington Wizards guard Michael Jordan.

Hang it up. What more can you possibly do? You made it to the NFC championship game. If he plays, especially for another team, his game started streak will end and that's sad. Go out on top, with dignity. Not like this. Please.

Don't forget the Packers still have all the cards in their hand. They don't have to release him. They can unretire him and then tell him he has to compete for a roster spot or tell him they'll trade him. That might force him to stay retired. The Pack simply can't let Bret have the control because he can kill them if he goes to Minnesota (a perfect fit for him) or even Chicago. It would completely ruin his image in Wisconsin if that were to happen.
