Perhaps it is time for Ken Griffey Jr. to just hang up his spikes. He no longer warrants hitting above the number six spot in the line up. That's right six! The last time he had two extra base hits in a game was August 25th, 2007 against the Marlins. That is 60 games without a double and a homer in the course of nine innings. Couple that with a plumetting OPS, just 16 walks, 27 RBI's and 0 stolen bases in that span, it is serious futility. Those numbers read like David Ross and and Javier Valentin not the '90's player of the decade. But that honor is now eight years removed for the Reds right fielder. Junior is no longer a threat and quite possbly a hindrance at this stage of his career, a career that is just about over.
