The sports world always brings together interesting marriages of personalties. There was Pete and Johnny on the Big Red Machine. You had Kobe and Shaq in the NBA, and let's not forget about McNabb and T.O. with the Eagles. However, there's never been anything quite like this - Al Davis and Dante Hall. If you want to talk about two people that deserve each other, these are them.
The Falcons and the Oakland Raiders completed a trade Thursday night that will send two-time Pro Bowl cornerback De Angelo Hall to Oakland in exchange for two draft picks, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Falcons will receive the Raiders' second-round pick this year (34th overall) and their fifth-round pick next year.
Hall signed a seven-year contract that will total $67 million. The NFL Network is reporting $24.5 million of the contract is guaranteed.
Hall has been disgruntled in Atlanta to say the least and his behavior and attitude on and off the field had the Falcons reluctant to extend him as his contract would have been up after the season.
Davis is a freaking joke. The man should have stepped down years ago and in my opinion the only thing keep Mike Brown from being the league's worst owner. Davis can let his ego go and until the old man croaks Raider Nation is cursed. The team already overpaid big time for Javon Walker and now they break the bank for Hall. Unlike Walker, Hall's skills and talent make him a perennial Pro Bowler, but whether he can accomplish that in the mess that is Oakland is still to be determined.
