Offending cultures, one ethnicity at a time

I get that professional sports teams are always looking to expand their fan base.  And I realize that the Hispanic demographic is growing.  Since even the Reds have been reaching out to the Spanish speaking population, it's not surprising that the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns, two teams in the southwestern part of the country, would be willing to do the same.

I'm not sure, however, that this was the best way to do this:

Really, NBA?  You couldn't have put more effort into creating a uniform that didn't look like the word "Los" was just ironed on 15 minutes before tipoff?

Or here's another thought: how about using the actual Spanish words for Spurs and Suns, instead of just stamping a "Los" on the jersey (for those interested, it's Los Estimulos and Los Soles - that took me 40 seconds on a Yahoo search, way to put some effort into the whole thing)?  You can call a hamburger "Le Hamburger", but that doesn't make it any more French, so why do it this way?

This just comes off as pandering.  Good idea NBA, bad execution.
