Day two of the NCAA tournament starts today at 12:15 with the game between #2 seed Tennessee and #15 seed American. Not likely to see an upset there. And in yesterday's first round action there were only two "upsets" based on seeds when #11 seed Kansas State toppled the #6 seed USC and #9 seed Texas A&M beat #8 seed BYU. Duke almost suffered another upset, but they pulled out a one point victory over Belmont in the waining moments of their game. Other than that the rest of the first day was all chalk.
That could change today though. Here are a few games to watch out for upsets happening in today.
-
#2 Tennessee vs. #15 American - As I said, its not likely to happen, but crazier things have happened in this dance
-
#5 Clemson vs. #12 Villanova - could happen but I've got Clemson here
-
#4 Vanderbilt vs. #13 Siena - not likely but Siena is being considered a possible Cinderella team this year
-
#7 Gonzaga vs. #10 Davidson - I like this upset to happen as I've picked Davidson in my bracket
-
#6 Oklahoma vs. # 11 St. Joseph's - St. Joe's had a good run down the stretch in the A-10, I like them in this upset today
-
#8 Indiana vs. #9 Arkansas - as in a typical 8-9 matchup, this one could go either way
-
#5 Drake vs. #12 Western Kentucky - Drake is a darkhorse this year, but W. Kentucky could pull off that 12-5 upset that tends to happen...I like Drake though
-
#8 Mississippi St. vs. #9 Oregon - another 8-9 matchup where either team has a legit shot to win...I picked Oregon reluctantly
-
#7 Miami (FL) vs. #10 St. Mary's - should be a good game, one that I picked to end in an upset
