Crow tastes better roasted

I would like to dedicate this post to my fellow bloggers with respect to their previous comments when I said UK would make it into the Big Dance.

I realize that not everyone is still convinced that the Wildcat's will make it on Selection Sunday and while the SEC is down this year, going 12-4 in a major conference and almost upsetting UT at UT without Patterson and Meeks, I say they are in.

So I just wanted to remind the reader of some previous comments.

March 2, 2008 - Jimmy Dinsmore - "Doing my best Jim Mora voice here: SEC Title?  NCAA Tourney Bid?  Holy crap, are you kidding me?  Postseason?  Even with Patterson they weren't going to win the SEC or get an at-large bid to the NCAA".

Feb 25, 2008 - Dan Clasgens - "It doesn't matter whether or not UK can make a run in this year's mediocre SEC or not, they have no chance at making any noise in March.

Feb 26, 2008 - Jeremy Fischer - "I'm tired of hearing this garbage from the insane Wildcat fans.  Let me break this down for you.  You only have 2 options of making the Big Dance:  1) You win the SEC Tourney  2) You win out, then make a deep run in the SEC Tourney (like to the final game).  Either are longshots.  Stop with the "we have a chance to make the dance garbage.  You don't.  You won't.  Live with it."

As a UK fan I have to say "We do.  We will.  We are going DANCING!!!"

Mmmm....fried crow tastes goood!

I have them in now. But I do see them getting a bad seed, which means a tough first round matchup and not making it out of the first weekend.

But they are in. I don't know how they did it? But they are in.

I don't expect them to make much noise but considering how the season started and how it has ended I am proud of them.

Billy G for SEC Coach of the Year!

I stand by original comments. I never questioned their chance to get in to the tournament, simply that even if they did they have no potential to "make any noise".

Their play without Patrick Patterson has been inspiring. However, beating a Florida team that is 3-7 over their last 10 games, with victories against only SEC doormats Georgia (twice) and South Carolina is hardly worthy of tagging this Kentucky team as "ready to make a run at it".

Let's get one thing straight, I am a UK fan and appreciate the way the team has played. Still, unlike my friend Mr. Sims I am not blinded by this and have some sense of reality. The SEC is as bad as I can ever remember and outside of Tennessee I don't see any of the teams in the conference even getting to the Sweet 16, including UK.

Mark it down, UK is going to the Elite 8. I believe in Billy G and this crop of kids.

So when they make it too the Elite 8 you can buy me some wings at B-Dubs.
