Humbert #2 started the round with a big risk in Tejada. Although his numbers were down last year due to his first injury, they had been in decline since driving in 150 runs a few years. Still, he's only 31 and the move to Houston could revive his career. However, his looming legal issue may suggest that he's was taken too early here. Regardless, he will be one of the most discussed players in fantasy drafts this spring.

Team #1 grabbed a second top-of-the-line starter in Zambrano. Given his hot head, he is a much safer pick a roto format. One big blowup could ruin a team's week in a head-to-head league.

Along with Tejada there were a few other risks here. Can Carlos Pena come close to repeating last year's numbers? How will Torii Hunter perform with his new team? Can Roy Halladay bounce back to Cy Young form? I do like where all of these guys were chosen, but I guarantee one of them will disappoint. Which one? Who knows?

Probably my guy.

One thing is for sure I am not going to wait until Picks #96 and #97 overall to add my second pitcher. So let's start there. I could take a stab at either Chris Young or Fausto Carmona to become my team's No. 2 starter or I could join the run starting (something I am not fond of doing) and grab my first closer.

Closers and saves can be had cheap, but there is something to say about having an elite closer. Joe Nathan was the only one of the four on my list that I consider "TIER 1" Candidates left on the board.

I've already made up my mind that I am going to go with the highest rated bat on my cheat sheet with the next pick (first of 7th round). With many starters out there I still like, I am going with the closer.

Despite finishing last year with worst strikeout rate and his highest WHIP as a member of the Twins, Nathan still finished with an sub-2.00 ERA for the third time in four years and was 37-for-41 in save chances. He had a 1.57 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP during the season's second half as due to be a free agent at year's end. Can you say pay me?

I summarize Round 7 as being the round of upside, as many players on the list have great potential. Jimmy Dinsmore's snagging of Bobby Abreu and Brian Polking's Aaron Harang can easily be argued as the best value picks to this point of the draft.

I had Abreu on my radar and when he wasn't picked by 7 guys before me in this round, I did a lot of research to find out if there was an injury or something wrong with this guy or what. No, in fact, he signed a one year contract, so he's playing for a big time contract. That sounds good to me. I didn't like taking another OFer (I now have 3). When my pick came up, I had to decide between Abreu, F-Rod, and a slew of pitchers that I liked. Since there's still a lot of good pitchers on the board and I don't value closers, I went with what I thought was the best value pick. This next pick I'll either go pitcher or somebody else I've been watching.

It was time for a closer. Pure and simple. I have the best pitcher in baseball already. And although I don't value pitching as much, and I never, ever overpay for closers, you have to have one Tier 1 closer.

Then forget about drafting another one of them until the last couple rounds, if that. With Paps and Putz already off the board, I went with the next guy on my list: F-Rod.

Now I can concentrate on getting 1 more SP and loading up on power guys. (Power defined as 30+ HR potential/95-100 RBI potential)

I debated on whether to go with another pitcher in this round or go snag up another outfielder. The pitcher I was thinking about what Halladay and he ended up being taken right after my pick of Hunter. With Hunter's move to LA or Anaheim or wherever the hell the Angels play, I feel he has the potential to have a great year. Taking him in the sixth round is really good value. He's moved from playing in the vast outfield of the Metrodome to in a more hitter-friendly park in the Angel Stadium of Anaheim (seriously...that's the name of their stadium!). Torii can now be known as "Torii Hunter Angel of Anaheim."

I'd expect to get about 25 HRs, 110 RBIs and maybe 15-20 SBs with a .280+ average out of Hunter again this year. If he does anything less I'll be surprised.
