Can we really call it a "Super" Bowl?

Giants vs. Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. Really? Is that the best we can do? I am a huge NFL fan. I love the sport, the competition, the parity. But this Super Bowl has all the makings of a dog. Yes, the Giants played the Pats tough for 3 quarters in Week 17, but come on. Plus, does anyone believe Eli Manning will be a Super Bowl winning quarterback? The Patriots and their hobo-robo jerk of a coach will gameplan for them and win this game handily. By the time Tom Petty takes the stage at half time, it will be over (and I'm not one for halftime shows, but is Tom Petty really Super Bowl halftime worthy?). Glad we usually play poker at the Super Bowl party I go to, as we'll be shuffling the deck early and let the women watch the commercials and then eventually relinquish the remote altogether so they can find something on HGTV or Lifetime.

Does it really matter who the Patriots are playing? This game is about 19-0. It is going to be one of them most historic games in history.

People need to give the Giants some credit. They got to this game by winning ten straight games on the road. They have not turned the ball over the entire playoffs.

No team had a bigger lead (12 points) over the Pats all season. The Cowboys got smoked at home and blew their chance and Green Bay couldn't take care of business.

This is isn't the 49ers-Broncos or Cowboys-Bills type of match-up (45 and 35-point Super Bowl margins), but it should be one-sided as you are talking about being matched up against the greatest team in history.

I'm not so sure that it's going to be as one-sided as you guys think. I'm giving more credit to the G-Men than you guys are.

I think the Pats will probably win this game. I can't stand to have to write that because much the way we've had to see Don Shula, Cszonka and Mercury Morris on TV every time a team has made a run at perfection over the past 20 years, could there be a worse thing than to have to see Bill F'ing Belicheck on TV for the next 20 years doing the same thing.

At least Mercury Morris is entertaining. An A**hole yes, but damn entertaining. I don't even want to imagine how the interviews 20, 30, or even 40 years from now are going to be with an aging, grizzled Bill Belicheck.

But I think the G-Men have clearly relished the role of underdog. They love playing with a chip on their shoulder because they've come into every game with the attitude that no one has given them a chance.

Could there be any bigger "you have no chance" game for the G-Men than this one? Don't think so.

Also, after watching the Pats for 5 out of the last 6 weeks, I think they are beatable. I won't tell you how (separate posting coming), but it has nothing to do with getting pressure on Brady.
