
Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips won his first Gold Glove for his play in the 2008 season. Philips led all second baseman with a .990 fielding percentage. He made just seven errors on the season.
Other recepients for the NL awards were Yadier Molina, Adrian Gonzalez, Jimmy Rollins, David Wright, Carlos Beltran, Shane Victorino, Nate McClouth and Greg Maddux. It was the 18th time Maddux won the award in his 19 year career. And it looks like it will be his last as his retirement was announced by his agent Scott Boras on Tuesday.
Gold Glove Awards for the American League will be announced on Thursday.
